About BP

The Bridge Program draws inspiration from the Society of Mary's (Marist Fathers) option for the young and the poor, alienated and marginalised in society...

Begun in 2011, BP has had a particular focus on 'bridging the gap' between Thai-Burma border post-10 refugee camp education and potential selection for online studies with participating universities internationally -- or for other further tertiary studies.

Since exercises are conducted online, then access to computer and Internet are essential.

BP focuses on developing skills in these principal areas:

  • Clear communication
  • Critical thinking
  • Personal self-management

English language
BP is NOT an English language course. However English is used throughout all assignments and communication.

Eligibility for the Bridge Program

Potential participants need to demonstrate

  • basic competence in simple English
  • preparedness to carefully read and follow simple written directives
  • reliable and competent access to the Internet, including Skype video communication
  • appropriate motivation for further self-development
